(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2021, Long An province's aquaculture output target is to reach over 60,000 tons, an increase of about 2,000 tons compared to 2020, of which, the output of brackish water shrimp will reach over 15,000 tons, the output of freshwater seafood will reach above 45,000 tons, an increase compared to 2020.

The Mekong Delta province of Long An targets at least 60,000 tonnes of aquaculture production this year, about 2,000 tonnes higher than in 2020.

Seafood exports reached 8.4 billion USD, down 1.9% compared to 2019, of which aquaculture (shrimp, pangasius) accounted for 62% with 5.2 billion USD, captured seafood accounted for 38% with 3.2 billion USD.

Of which, the capture production reached 3.85 million MT, up 2.1%, the aquaculture production reached 4.56 million MT, up 1.5%, and the export turnover achieved US$8.4 billion.
